Andrew Wallace's connection to the environment stems from his earliest memories spending holidays at his uncle's deer farm. Here they had an extensive garden, which was Andrew's first experience of a sustainable ecosystem. Waste from the farm would help cultivate the gardens with resultant produce grown to eat over dinner, a truly cyclical approach.
Late in his 20s Andrew discovered Glowpear through a business he was working for at the time, and he was instantly drawn to the aesthetic and functional nature of the Urban Garden. He reminisces, "Through trial and error (and a can-do attitude) I rediscovered the enjoyment I had for growing food."
Some time had passed and Andrew ended up making a transition from his old career to Glowpear, where his interest and knowledge have helped develop the global business, and furthered his own knowledge of gardening. He mentions, "I have always had a DIY mentality and a love for the environment, which I think aligns well with Glowpear and how I went from a user of the product to a member of the Glowpear family." Now in his 30s, as a parent Andrew looks to inspire his children, the way he was many years ago, "I love firsthand seeing a seedling develop into something edible, giving my daughters a tangible understanding of what is possible."
