Three of the most commonly grown items found in kitchen gardens are responsible for one of the most delicious, and exciting condiments in the food world.  

A long-time staple of Italian cuisine, the Italian’s know how to maximise the flavour of a dish, by adding equal parts of pungent earthiness, fresh herbal notes and bright acid… I’m of course talking about Gremolata, and it's classic trio of ingredients;  Garlic, Parsley, and Lemon.

Our Glowpearian this quarter is Madison based Steven Knurr. Steven is in marketing at a Wisconsin technology consulting firm focusing on  healthcare, retail, and manufacturing sectors.

Using his creative talents Steven developed an impressive urban greenhouse that is technology driven. It blends seamlessly with his 'up and coming' neighbourhood, where 'pour over' coffee, fixed geared bikes, and backyard chicken coups are the norm.

Plant watering can be achieved either directly through the soil, or periodically top up the reservoir via the fill point.

Select your plants to fill your Glowpear Urban Garden from a wide range of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers.

Despite its convenient size, the Glowpear Urban Garden features a deceptively large growing volume. So think big when planning your urban garden, inside or out, the possibilities are endless. 

When you’re ready to fill your Glowpear with soil, remember to prepare the plot first. Place the two wicking pouches provided into the base of the planter, fill them with soil, compact, and then wet thoroughly. Once complete, cover with the root barrier provided, and you're ready to fill the growing chamber with soil.

We have come up with a range of self watering container mix options that we know will get your Glowpear Urban Garden going. Option 1 - No Mess, No Fuss 2 x 25 L bags of premium organic potting mix (ensure it contains fertilizer, and bark fines) 1 x 5 L Bag of Perlite Mix together and fill the planter, plant soil with seeds or seedlings, then top with pea straw to lock in moisture.
